Krittika means “the cutters” or “the ones who separate.”

Its presiding deity is Agni, the sacred fire.

Ruled by Surya (Sun), Krittika carries radiant, तेजस्वी energy.

It gives courage, willpower, and the strength to face truth,

The symbol of Krittika is a blade or sharp instrument,

Its nature is Tikshna (sharp/intense),

indicating decisive and transformative energy.


Sacred Plant – Palash


The sacred plant associated with Krittika is Palash (Butea monosperma).

Known as the “Flame of the Forest,”

its bright orange-red flowers resemble fire itself.

Palash reflects the essence of Krittika —

burning, purifying, and renewing life.

Palash contains compounds like Butrin and Flavonoids,

and is used in Ayurveda for digestive health, skin disorders, and wound healing.
